At IDAOC, we want to make accessing care as convenient as possible. We are pleased to offer telehealth services so you can meet with your provider from the comfort of your home using your smartphone.

How it Works: Doximity

We use a platform called Doximity for our virtual visits. It is a free, secure, and HIPAA-compliant service designed to keep your health information private.

  • No App Needed: You don’t need to download anything or create an account.

  • The Process: At your appointment time, your doctor will send a text message to your smartphone with a secure link. Simply click the link, allow access to your camera and microphone, and you will enter the private video chat room.

Insurance and Coverage

While we are happy to provide this service, it is important to understand how your insurance handles virtual visits:

  • Variable Coverage: Commercial payer coverage for telehealth varies significantly. Each insurance company has its own rules about which virtual services they will cover.

  • Cost-Sharing: Your out-of-pocket costs (such as copays or deductibles) for a telehealth visit may be different than what you usually pay for an in-person office visit.

  • Verify Your Benefits: Because every policy is unique, we strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider directly before your appointment. Ask them specifically about your "telehealth benefits" to confirm your coverage and any expected costs.

Preparing for Your Visit

To ensure the best experience, please make sure you:

  1. Have a smartphone with a working camera and microphone.

  2. Are connected to high-speed Wi-Fi or a strong 5G cellular connection.

  3. Are in a quiet, private location.
